November: Learning to be
Thankful!
November is the month we learn about what it means to be
thankful! We are thankful for our school facility, our
teachers, our office and kitchen staff, our friends, our food
(especially turkey and pumpkin pie!) and the congregation that
supports us with prayers and donations. Most of all, we
are thankful to a loving God who cares for us and loves us!
Trinity Lutheran School now participates in the Kiwanis Terrific
Kids program. Gene Thrailkill and Lance Knight, both
Kiwanis members, come to our school on the first Thursday of
each month to present awards to the students who have been
nominated by their teachers. Each month we focus on a
different character trait. Three students were recognized
for being "thoughtful" in the month of September; Isabella
Portillo in prek-4, Cerria Johnson in kindergarten, and Alex
Laffin in 1st grade. Congratulations to those students!
During October, we will be learning about "enthusiasm."
- Scholastic Book Fair will be here from November 3-9.
The book fair will be in the triangle room and will be open
before and after school each day. The book fair will
be available on Sunday, November 9, for congregation members
to purchase books. Books make GREAT Christmas gifts!!
- On Tuesday, November 4, Norman Regional Hospital will
bring their Healthy Youth Program to Trinity! They
will conduct basic screening tests on the students; height,
weight, vision and hearing. This is a free service
offered to the students. Each student will also
receive a goody bag filled with hygienie and health
products.
- On Tuesday, November 25, there will be a special
Thanksgiving Feast offered to the students and families
during lunchtime. The menu includes turkey or ham
croissant sandwiches, cranberry salad, sweet potato
casserole, and pie.
- No School or Child Care on Friday, November 7 due to
parent/teacher conferences
- No School or Child Care November 26-28 for Thanksgiving
Break.
